I need to learn some more of this restraint that you gentlemen speak of.

I'm proud of myself for having gone 40 days now since my last pipe purchase.
I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.

I bought Durango's Curt Rollar horn pipe. It's my only 2019 pipe purchase. Haven't tried it out yet. It's unsmoked, and a beautiful pipe. I think Steve was aware of my pipe envy, and was not surprised at all to see my PM in his inbox. It's going to be an English-only pipe, I'm thinking, the dryer the better, if I ever do decide to smoke it.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

I'm up to two. Savinelli 106 Christmas 2019.

I was patting myself on the back the other day about the level of PAD restraint I've been showing this year. Then Rita reminded me of the gun parts delivery she'd just signed for.

I just substituted obsessions. GPAD is a thing.

I have stopped at the two I said I was going to get this year, but not for lack of want just for lack of cash as there are three pipes right now I would buy if I had the jack.

I've bought too many. The latest being Durango's Peterson 150 Rosslare Classic, which is arriving today. I really need to cool it. I'm up to 12 for the year, not counting the 3 that were gifted and the one that was a surprise bonus item back when Chris Morgan was running a special in the the spring.

Not sure whether I should be proud or embarrassed about this number.

I need to cut myself off for the remainder of the year, if not longer.

I used to have a very similar style pipe. Of course, mine was a Stanwell, not Peterson. I ended up giving it away to a guy that helped me build my house out in Hewa. I miss that pipe. It was a great smoker and being a military mount was great for bush trips.

Mrs. Joegoat and I stopped in at Boswell's on the way home from Gettysburg. It came down to this one and another one. This one was the winner.

Okay people, I need a ruling. I bought two more pipes today, but one, likely both, will serve as Christmas gifts. Do they add to my count or not? If so, I'm up to four.

Peterson Killarney 150

Peterson Atlantic 68

I bought them both for 90 bucks total from James Barber's clearance page. I think I did okay. It would have been irresponsible to just walk away.

I think they count as long as they are in your possession...but get deducted when they leave your hands...kind of a rolling tally 8)
