Newest Pipe
My newest pipe was delivered today, an estate Ben Wade dublin. I'm breaking it in with Prince Albert right now. Smokes pretty good and I'm not so sure it even needs breaking in.

Trying to figure out how to post a picture. I took a photo of it and it's on my computer. I think back in 2011 I had to use photobucket to post a photo but I'm not sure.

No, I bored the deer to death accidentally while I was taking a walk muttering to myself. I was droning on and on and on, much like I do in my posts here. It was a cold rainy day and the only sounds were the rain drops hitting the leafless branches and my monotone voice. I was scanning the ground in front of me looking for a root to trip over when I heard a thud. I looked to my right and that buck had fallen out of his tree nest. He only managed to gasp, "no more, please no more" and then his deer soul flew away. Anyway, you only use swords on bears and squirrels.

Re: Newest Pipe
It's taking time but this pipe is growing on me. It is a hot smoking rascal for the first half of the bowl, harsh and bitey no matter what tobacco I smoke in it and no matter how I pack it. That can be controlled by almost not drawing, just letting it sit in my teeth with a light puff every ten or fifteen seconds. After a little time and tamping as it gets to about half a bowl, it cools down a little and mellows out. Still have to smoke it slow but it improves. It was an estate pipe with no cake at all, so maybe it just needs breaking in. It's strange how pipes have their own personalities that change as they age. They normally mellow out as they age like people. But some just are bad and nasty and always will be, just like some people. I think this Ben Wade is going to mellow out and become a good smoker when it grows up. I still like it.
