John Bull?

Post by mont974x4 » Mon Nov 10, 2014 11:20 am

JimVH got me hooked on John Bull pipe tobacco. I love that stuff. I was wondering if anyone has tried the cigars and if so, does the flavor compare to the pipe tobacco?

I have not had the cigars, but I'm stoked you enjoy their pipe tobacco. I've been trying to turn people on to it, but you're the first to set the hook.

I'm not sure when I will be ordering more tobacco, but I think I'll get some of these cigars and will let you know.

I think I try to get a hold of some of this too. It's pretty cheap.

this supremely cool and smooth mixture uses mild flue-cured tobaccos, mellow and nutty Burley, a touch of black Cavendish for a subtle sweetness and the star of the blend, magnificent Cyprian Latakia

My review...only posted here.
Royal English John Bull
1 ½ oz original package that was a gift from a fellow CPSer. The label reads, “A proper English, combining bright Virginias and Burleys with a hint of Black Cavendish and smokey Latakia.” I would describe the cut as a moderately sized ribbon. The tobacco was moderately moist and easy to pack. I really enjoyed this blend as a rich smokey blend that goes well with my morning coffee and devotion time.

Just added a pouch to my order.

Will give it a try when it gets here and report back.

Smoked some of this blend today and really enjoyed it. Mild. English flavor without being too strong. Good early morning tobacco. Will certainly add this to my regular rotation. Wish more pouch blends were this good.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm still hoping for a review of the cigars of the same name.

I think I'm going to add a few of the John Bull cigars to my IPS Day order next month.

Thanks for the headsup. I went ahead and ordered 3 pouches, and a 5 pack of the cigars. :chili:

John Bull is quickly becoming a regular in my rotation.

Jim, you have any other tobacco suggestions? Seems we share the same tastes. 8)
