Jim, you have any other tobacco suggestions? Seems we share the same tastes. 8)
I'm also the guy that liked Middleton Apple. Look for a PM.
Oh ya, that was you.

I still have that pouch you sent me. I smoke some every now and then in hopes that it gets better.

So, after about 15 minutes of smoking the John Bull cigar I found no flavor, but did notice it stunk up the garage. It did burn nice and evenly though....until I smashed it out as a waste of time.

I gave my remaining 4 cigars to my friend who is in seminary now. He likes cigars. He just sent me a message saying he likes them.

I bet it smelled a lot worse after smashing it out. Let 'em burn out!

I think using snow to put it out heed with that, and tossing it in the dumpster outside.

In that case, it may have improved the scent of the dumpster.

The pouch is on sale for $3.45. I suggest adding it to your IPSD order.

I've been through a box of John Bull cigars. The ad copy reads "the working man's Ashton". That's a bit of a stretch, but for the price they're okay. I'd call them an acceptable, mild yard gar. On CigarBid, they can be had for ~$1.25 /cigar. In the same price range, a superior alternative is the Torano Dominico.

Scored some of these on my last cigarbid.com bender and smoked one this evening.

A good mild smoke, nothing real earth shattering, but a decent stick. I did notice that the flavor profile changed during the middle third of the smoke and was getting hints of vanilla and some nuttiness which were pleasing. The final third started to get somewhat harsh and I put it down a little earlier than I normally would.

Overall a nice cheap smoke that I will enjoy when I want something mild to pass the time.

I like the pipe tobacco better than the cigars.

Anyone know where I might buy some John Bull pipe tobacco? Online places I know are out of stock.

Yes. Not the cigars but the pipe tobacco. It is excellent

John Bull (and a couple other pouch baccys) are back in stock at Pipes & Cigars, and on sale. Buy 2, get one free. But only through the end of the week I think.

Just though those who really like John Bull might like to know.

I got a pouch of this in one of the box passes.

I rather enjoyed it.

THere is no limit on the amount. I bought 8 and got 4 free, for a total of 12. So, it came out to $3.33 for a 1.75 ounce pouch, and no tax. Whats that, about $1.80 an ounce?

But the sale is only on this week. It may end today, or tomorrow, I don;t know.
