Finally picked up my first cigar today. Really only bought it to make pipe mud. It’s a Padron but supposed to be on the weaker side since it’s my first. Tastes OK but is it supposed to smell like bat guano before you light it?

Thanks. I guess I was just expecting it to smell like pipe tobacco. It also was individually plastic wrapped so maybe it needed to air out a bit.

Yeah they do not smell alike, and nope the cellophane on cigars still allows for airflow.

Obsidian, an odd, short, fat little cigar. When I lit it, it caught on fire. I had to blow it out. Later when it momentarily went out, in the darkness of the porch I accidently put the burnt end into my mouth. I didn't get burned but a mouth full of ashes pretty much put a damper on the remaining smoke. And on the glass of Merlot that I used for mouthwash, as well.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

Lol I’m glad I’m not the only one who has done that!

I've tried to light the wrong end of a cigarrette before. Those filters are harsh when they are on fire.

Hoyo de Monterey, so far so good taste-wise, but the cut end is quickly falling apart. Doesn't hold up well when pairing it with a glass of wine.

Rocky Patel Vintage 2003. Sucky year for me and this cigar in no way makes up for it.

La Boheme, a very fine cigar. Started it last night after dinner, and finishing it this morning after breakfast. Wish it was easy to post pics on this forum, I've gotten spoiled by other forums, and now imgur and others seem such a pita.
