With the exception of show cigars I smoke for the podcast, much of my cigar smoking these days consists of "colmado sticks." You'd think that living in the DR would facilitate a lot of cigar smoking...but frankly, I could buy Dominican cigars much cheaper stateside. Because most are made in zona francas, the tax situation is not favorable to buy them here. But, these little guys can be had for the equivalent of about $0.04 apiece (not a typo). They're basically made by a dude in the mountains who grows a little tobacco in his yard, harvests it and throws it in the corner until he feels like it's ready to roll up and sell. Worth every penny :).
