No Shave November...

Post by JMG » Thu Nov 25, 2010 12:43 pm

Anybody else taking part in this? I am, and have for some years now. I don't grow the greatest facial hair, but I feel this a worthy enough "man" cause. (Jake...on behalf of your husband please continue to shave your legs  ) Just wondering if anyone else is taking part?

I'll post pictures at the end of the month...though it's nothing spectacular.

Right on man. Once we get to the tribe I think I'll go a whole year maybe...at least six months. But for now, I speak at too many churches to let it go that long. But my hat is off to you, good sir.

I quit shaving about 3 months ago. I grew a beard when I was in Europe this summer, and then shaved it when I got home. But about 3 months ago I realized how freaking awesome it was not to shave. Now i just trim every couple of weeks.

When I greet at Sunday services, it makes me chuckle that the first person people see when they walk in the door is a guy that looks like he just came down from the mountain.

I envy you guys. My job requires neatly trimmed facial hair. Otherwise, I'd love to grow a Grizzly Adams.

I look silly with facial hair, and it itches like a rash, so NSN is out of the picture.

Well for me it's more like October to February. Then it's down to a goatee for a few months, then a 'stache, then clean shaven. Then start all over.

I do like to keep my chops and gotee, but not shaving?!?!?! I think I'd go insane not building a lather, massaging it onto my face, and then feeling my smooth skin afterwards.

I've participated in No Shave November for a few years now, which for me is more along the lines of, 'no trim around the edges November' since I sport a year round beard...but I do trim it down pretty close every now and then.

I've got a pretty good head start for this year. Last year I kept it going through December.

Any one else?

My beard is almost 25 years old. Except for one day, but that was an ill advised mistake. I regularly trim it down to about 1/2" inch.

Me too. I sport a year round form of mustache\goatee so this is just an extension. I've got to say though, it's coming in all patchy and white. 8O Wasn't this bad last year.

I had a beard last year for the first time in my life.
When I shaved it off, my wife admitted to me that she liked me better without it.

Good enough for me - off it stays.

But I’ll hang onto some photos as keepsakes...
