While the Dead are most know for "Casey Jones" and "Truckin'," which are justifiably folk music, these two songs don't encompass the entirety of the Dead's sound. Indeed, their early period, from '65-'69, was mostly electric blues and psychedelic, combined with lengthy improvisational jams.
