Do You Wear or Carry a Watch?

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

Do you wear a wrist watch?

Yes. I am a man, you see.

I've been looking at that brown one for over a year.

This one, too:

That Bambino is an unbelievable value - and terrific looking (I have a black blue face Bauhaus and the rose gold/brown ver. 4 - which keep me from feeling the need for a Presage).

Dress watches are appropriate for my workplace. I seem to wear my Bambino’s to work more than any other of my watches.

Let me continue to be a bad influence ...

Go for it.
The price seems to have dropped a bit since the open hearts and small seconds (neither of which I like as much) came out.

It would be a bargain at twice the price.

There are some beautiful watches in this thread. I would like to enjoy wearing a watch again, I just rarely if ever need one. My phone, while not elegant in any way, is infinitely more useful on a daily basis.

I never look at my phone for the time...its there I know it will display the time...I just am used to looking at my wrist when I want to know the time. I had the same issue when I carried a pocket watch...kept looking at my wrist. Also a watch is like a pocket knife. I like to wear a different watch each day and carry a different knife...just makes it interesting to change it up some

This, absolutely!

Although, when I come home from school, on days when I’m puttering around the house working on things or doing “chores” I’ll change into “work clothes,” put on a beater watch and typically stick the same, old Schrade gunstock trapper in my pocket. The watch and knife show some wear and I don’t mind a bit if they pick up some more.

I’ve been looking at my wrist to see the time and reaching into my pocket for a folding knife for so long I feel “undressed” without either of them.

Watches and knives are a bit like pipes. I have “beaters” and special (to me - nothing particularly expensive) watches, knives and pipes. I don’t mow the lawn, work around the house, walk the dog in the woods or go fishing with any pipe I’d hate to break or lose. But when I “dress up” I like to carry a nice pipe, wear a nice watch and carry a nice knife. When I was able to smoke at work I’d often take something special up to campus to show to a colleague who’d do the same.

Variety. Beauty.
The spice of life.

(And, I firmly believe, expressions of Divinity.)

This photo doesn't begin to capture the beauty of this watch. I'll try to get a better photo up later in the week.

That was a heck of a snag for a nice dress watch.

So this happened. I climbed into bed and found a gift on my pillow. Shazaam. This was supposed to have been a gift-free birthday, but Rita pulled the wool over my eyes. Snoopy wife meet amazon search history.

I'm so used to wearing an old, smaller Bulova that this thing feels like I'm carrying a wall clock on my arm. It's perfect for aging eyes.

What a wonderful expression of love. Looks great on you, Jim.
(Darn nice fountain pen, too!)

If my wife were to check my search history, she’d find that watch popping up a lot, too. It's been calling to me for months. I’ve been “this close” to hitting the buy button a hundred times! Your photo may we’ll push me over the edge.
