Ancient Mystical Monks

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

I’m on my so-called phone. Pretty sure we have a priest in the Roman Rite that during Mass would become so moved, he flew around.

Yes. This sounds like a DL dork thing, I agree. But, googlewikisnopesandall.com will show I am correct.

In his controversial books on hallucinogens and mysticism, Don Zimmer: A Yankee Way of Knowledge, anthropologist Carlos Beltran wrote of a Latin mystic, Alex Rodriguez, who could do amazing things when on magical drugs.

Hah.

On a side note, may I say that, while I prefer contemplative out of the current range of options, my absolute favorite are bi-locating monks?

And this little Jesuit feels for the refugees who cry "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" all the way from home:
In the OP, Pope Francis wrote:The pontiff then entrusted migrants and refugees under the protection of Mary as the Mother of God, adding an off-the-cuff reference to “ancient mystical monks” who taught that in “times of turbulence, it’s important” to seek Mary’s aid.

Monks are cool. Trappist Monks were one of my accounts when I was a licensed contractor.

Judging from your posts in this thread, I'm not sure you have 100% monk recognition installed. At least one of them is the current Pope.

St. Joseph and St. Pio also were not monks.

Let's not quibble about it.

Monks tend to give rockin' Retreats.
Especially the Carthusians.
I know this from first hand experience.

Wowsa! Carthusians are about as ancient and mystical as you can get!
(And founded by St. Bruno, so we've got that going for us too.)

I didn't know that we had any Carthusian monasteries in America.

Looks like there is only one, located in Vermont:
