Amazon Gold

Amazon Prime's platform, I believe, pales in comparison to the user friendly Netflix. However they are going to start launching more originals and this one looks promising.

Amazon Prime picked up the SYFY (terrible spelling change) series "The Expanse" (first two seasons). I've made it through one and a half seasons and halted at a good pausing point to get my wife to check it out.

Braven (Amazon Prime)

We were expecting your basic B action flick, but it was actually pretty entertaining. While not a smash hit it was engaging enough that I never checked my watch (but I did look at my facebook feed for a moment or two). There was plenty of good shooting, stabbing, and bow and arrow to the head action. As an added point of interest for this group, one of the bad guy's henchmen smoked a pipe in a couple of scenes.

Jack Ryan, Bosch, Long Strange Trip, The Man in the High Castle - all great!

With great trepidation I look forward to the upcoming Lord of the Rings, and Wheel of Time shows that are in preproduction.

I enjoyed the pilot episode of Hanna, and will probably check out the rest of the episodes that just dropped. Never saw the film that the show is based upon though.
I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.

Our go-to Amazon Prime shows right now are Grand Tour and we watch old episodes of River Monsters with the kids from time to time.

We tried to watch ABC Murders a few weeks ago. I'm a fan of John Malcovich and love Agatha Christie, what could be better? Darn near unwatchable. I'm not a guy that needs explosions or stupid jokes every few seconds to stay interested, but that first episode was painfully slow and uncomfortably/disturbingly awkward. Literally and figuratively dark, it was just hard to watch.

Forever

Not gold. Or silver. Or even bronze. More like death by a thousand cuts. It's supposed to be a comedy-drama, though I couldn't find evidence of either.
I was done 15 minutes into it, but RIta wanted to keep watching it, so we finished all eight episodes. Eight. Painful. Episodes. Truth be told, I think she hated it, too, but out stubborned me.

Watched the final couple episodes of The Man in the High Castle tonight. Overall it's a pretty good show. I recommend it.

The Booth at the End

Two quick seasons of five, thirty-minute episodes each. The entire show takes place in the booth of a diner where a mystery man doles out wishes in exchange for seemingly random tasks in return.

I wouldn't call it gold, but it was watchable and often entertaining.

Watching the second season of Lost In Space with my family. It's proof that a good show can indeed be made without nudity, profanity, excessive violence, etc. Really enjoying the show.
