TSA PSA for All CPS Members

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

TSA PSA for All CPS Members

Post by hugodrax » Fri Dec 28, 2018 11:24 am

They’re the meter maids of the sky. The illusion of law and order. Warts on the collective rear end of society.

Don’t let em take your lighter.

Except they once opened my wife’s suitcase for a closer look at “these round circular objects that look like beads.” They were beads. On a necklace.

Sometimes I think they’re just screwing with us.

PnP and I had to empty our carry on bags on the way to the Chicago show. Got to explain about the pipe show, etc etc. They thought we were total dorks.

I had one ask us who was the Japanese citizen once. I made the international “slitty eye” gesture and said “me, a4$3#ole.” Fastest trip through customs ever.

Not tsa, I suppose, but still. Institutionalized stupidity.

That was a great weekend. Haven't been back since. Maybe in '20.

worked with a guy once the had his nail clippers taken away at the security checkpoint going into the airport...after he got in the "secure" area, they sell nail clippers at the counter with all the snacks and junk food.

They got my lighter once. It was a soft flame with a piezo igniter. They decided it was a torch lighter because of the click. Frustratingly, I didn't have enough time to argue with them and demand that they got somebody over there who knew what they were talking about. I had to just let it go or miss my flight. :x
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Enjoyed your report, JB.
Was pleased to hear you visited the Marion Wade Center, very special place, but quite upset to learn there were no snacks.

I’m sure by now the situation has been rectified and there’s a Starbucks in the lobby - crawling with Hobbits.

Yeah, sounds about right. I remember one trying to confiscate my fountain pen once because it could be a weapon. I think they go shopping in our pockets.
