New Leaving California sign

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

This state of ours is awesome and terrible at the same time. I almost left, still thinking that I should. Just not so sure that Texas was the right place to flee to.

Leaving so soon? We suck. We understand.

It used to be a wonderful place but now just way too many people. And the urban sprawl, crime, building out, up into the dry chaparral foothills. As we've seen; a recipe for disaster. Add to that, earthquakes. Waiting for the next "big one." And what would a tsunami do to Los Angeles proper? They are basically at sea-level and have no coastal range to protect them there.

They can have it. I'm happy & content being where I am.

My wife is from the suburbs of San Diego. I lived there with her for a while, then convinced her to get out with me in late 2004. No regrets.
I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.

Back in the mid-80s I had a sales route that often took me through Vista. Back when Vista was quite charming; almost rural, and right on the coast, too, where the only good air quality is. I'm sure, it's not rural anymore.
