I took first swag yesterday. Lots more to polish it off but I made a big chunk towards the key known pieces. Lots of docs are yet to come in.

I’ve done what I can. We are still waiting for a couple of documents to come in the mail. Drink whiskey. It eases the pain.

I am excited to see what happens. I expect the new standard deduction will be greater than last year's itemized deductions.

But we are losing the two personal exemptions, as I understand it. So it might be a net increase to our taxable income.

Should be about the same.

The standard deduction was larger than itemized for us this year. I’m just waiting on two W-2s. One for a full time job I had until mid March and one for the part time job I had from April to the end of the year.

I have been preparing for tax season since summertime. I now work for H&R Block.

No, I haven't started my own tax return yet.

Done and filed, just took the standard deductions, didn't buy enough tools or tithe enough to church, Judy is on disability so basically retired on SSA. I take the single rate out of my check plus 10.00 a week for both state and federal taxes to help cover her taxes so we get her whole SSA check. the Medicare B and D come out of our account monthly. Still getting $1200.00 refund.

I ordered some paper forms from the IRS over two weeks ago. Do you think I'll get them?

We're getting a new Accountant this year.
In fact I have to call her this morning,

I too have filed. We approach taxes like ripping off a bandaid. Do it fast and don't think too much before you rip.

But hey...the new Child Tax Credit is pretty sweet.
