Bernadette Farrell

The part of the church where the silliest things happen. Conversations that sound like they belong in the youth room will be moved here.

Bernadette Farrell

Oh Lord, we beseech Thee, in Thy infinite mercy as the Promoter of Divine Justice, please convert the heart of this composer of crud, this liturgical hymnographer of humanistic hubris. Alternatively, Oh God of Hosts, may her pens all blot and her papers fall off the table or blow out of the window or something more-or-less manifesting Thy Divine Will that she play in traffic on the A-1. As a last resort, and nothing else availing, in Thy tender love, smite the poo out of this hippy-dippy, happy-clappy harridan. We would offer this for the conversion of poor sinners, O God, but for the fact her music is driving them out of Thy Holy Church faster than they can fornicate on a Friday. Fly to our protection, O Lord, and answer this our petition immediately, if not sooner. Amen.

Seriously. Heard "God has Chosen Me" for the first time today. Unable to choose whether to assault the organist (simply unable to control herself in all her Pastor-Trusts-Me glee, she pulled the "trumpet" knob--think worst mid 80's synthesizer on blast) egg the choir, or remove Father's Roman collar, I simply froze, aghast.

One of the last remaining "boat churches" in the US, mind. Traditional as all get out. Harrumph.

Harrumph.

Harrumph.

Thus, I am sharing this:

I had not heard of this before.

Good enough for the elevator at Christian Radio tower, perhaps. But not suitable for worship... very not.

Hey, that's a Vacation Bible School song if I ever heard one. I bet your kids loved it.

No, they were pretty shocked, too. I mean, it was the procession hymn. Gag me with a spoon.

Perhaps she is related to Will Farrell. He can sing, too.

Musical composition and arrangement aside - this song seems a bit overly ME-focused for corporate worship IMO.
