I remember seeing one of these used as a sign on the roof of a local tire shop

I heard it's been restored and in a museum now.

I remember when Alaska and Hawaii were
territories
and when our family's first ever television set, the second tv set on our block, was delivered.
I remember TV repairmen.

Mrs. Del's father was a TV repairman. Swapping out tubes when the picture got all wonky.
In his retirement, he often muttered about the problems of new televisions that "got all them chips in 'em."

Renting a VCR and a few tapes twice a year from the gas station. Very exciting.

Counter checks. Some stores would have books of checks from banks in surrounding towns.

Yeah we had those at the grocery store I worked at in the 90s. Forgot about those.
Also, old enough to remember what cheques are. I think our 11-year-old chequebook is on #23 or so right now.

As a kid I remember Mom being rear ended in our 69 Buick Electra by a garbage truck. Of course none of us were wearing seat belts and no one was hurt. Heck, you would be hard pressed to find any damage on the car.
I loved that car, though I still think I have burn scars from the seatbelts (sitting on them).

I remember not being able to watch cartoons because there was a black card being shown on the TV with something about President Kennedy.
