This morning's meltdown was caused by Mary throwing the trash away.

When meltdowns occur, apply the board of education to the seat of learning. Things will be learned.

Spanking a young toddler for being irrational seems rather irrational, don’t you think? Unless your goal is to prevent them from showing emotion later in life.

Oh, this is more fun than a political thread!

My mother used to spank little me with force and anger and it was terrifying.

But she was being irrational, so I didn't learn anything.

Only if he does something physical unprovoked--biting, hitting. But being scared of water doesn't seem to warrant punishment. Also found my dad voice to be be fairly preventive if I know he's going in for the bite.

It’s a good thing Fainn posted this in the Youth Room. Otherwise folks would be tempted to get all serious about parenting and discipline advice.

Tell you what though, Mrs Gabriel used to be part of some sort of post or group on FB where folks would post whatever irrational thing their kid was throwing a fit about. Hilarious. My kids all had their fair share of moments.

IKR?
This thread is best when it's about Fainn's toddler having meltdowns, not Theimpotent's thoughts on corporal punishment.

I'm guessing the lad must be about 2 years old now? They don't call them the terrible twos for nothing.

I was just giving AFRS a hard time. He can take it. As far as TheImpudent is concerned, that’s another story.

I love irrational fits stories.

I don't know why, but this thread made me think of Uncle Fester getting all peeved and bringing out the blunderbuss.

Oy vey. Worse then terrible twos, huh? I really can not speak from experience since never was "blessed" with children.
