If it is brass, it will last longer than most HF tools.
Actually, I have lots of their tools. Mission Critical tools require trusted brands. But if the tool is a hopefully used only once, go with HF.

Wisdom. I buy stuff from HF, but try to avoid anything with moving parts.
Oh, and I have a grandson that works for them and I get the occasional deal on returned and damaged, but repairable goods.
Boom.

Re: Tools from Hazard Fraught
I had a sliding mitre saw from them for a long time. The switch crapped out and I found one from another manufacturer that worked. It took me a minute to get it wired in there correctly and I used it for a few more years until finally enough safety features broke I replaced it with a Rigid.
My folks got me a hammer drill from there that I think I still have and it still runs. It didn't have enough grunt to do the decking on my concrete porch and that was when I made my first Rigid purchase.
For anything needing precision though, I avoid them. I find that even my Rigid mitre saw doesn't make perfect 90's and it is annoying. I've really gotta work with it to get it right and I can't use the preset notches.

I am selective about what kind of items I get from them. Hey their epoxy is cheap and very good. I have a magnifying lamp from them...it was $20, 8 years ago...I use it every week for something, reading brass stamps on cases, fly tying, re-furbing a pipe....lots of stuff...never even had to replace the bulb...Knock on wood
