Absolutely Useless Facts About Yourself, No One Cares About

I learned today that wombats have square poop. It seems like I should have known that sooner.
Many who read this thread have learned and been enriched.
I know I have.
I love this place.

For those who want--nay, need--to know more:

The article has other fun bits of info about wombats as well. Tune in for gems like
A wombat will hoist an intrusive dingo on its back and crush it against the roof of its burrow.
and
...they can poop as many as 100 times a night.
How does one acquire this power?

1) Geoff Moore and the Distance were great together. I miss them.
I hated...HATED...their Homerun "song," which happens to be on the Wow Album from whatever year that was...that my son plays regularly.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Yeah... but the tour was awesome! Got to see them open for the Newsboys on the Take Me To Your Leader tour (you know, back when they were still a rock band). I saw Geoff perform with just Roscoe once The Distance were no more and he rocked even harder with just the acoustic guitar! He is a great performer.

Get :wavey: ting used to new Phonak 90's, controlled by Bluetooth oh my cell phone! Amazing!
Do you find that you adjust them very often? Mine has a bunch of features that I don't use. I just set it and forget it.
I've only had mine not quite a week. But I too, "basically" leave it set all the time. This morning, I did experiment by switching it to my right side - as my wife was reading out loud to us, and it did make it clearer for me. I'm most curious as to what I can set in a restaurant setting - - when and if we EVER can eat out again! :) That is the place where I am most upset, trying to hear conversations at the table, with scores of other people all talking and kitchen sounds, etc.
But we don't eat out that often. Just mostly on special occasions. Kinda funny to me how we humans go out to eat on anniversaries, etc. Tacos at home is fine with me! Ha, Ha!

So back to the main point. So far I don't mess with it during the day at all. And whenever I DO, it's mostly to experiment and find out how to set it correctly. I've not learned yet, now to adjust the volumn when on the phone.
I only have a left one so far. I just hold my phone to my right ear for now, but I figure I'll get two new ones in the next year or so and I'll step up to the bluetooth models that transmit phone calls to the hearing aid. I bought one of those dopey remote controls on a necklace and I don't use it.

Good luck getting used to yours. I hope they improve your life, or at least make it easier to get through the day.
Thanks. The top complaint I have is that there is no filter to screen out the words: "You need to take out the trash!" :) :)

My father has a pair of fancy bluetooth hearing aids. He found that you have to come up with your own settings as the factory presets weren't exactly optimal for him.

Of course, he also found that he was "missing" conversations he never wanted to hear in the first place and often turns them off. That's a power move.

It is amazing how much has been researched and written regarding the saxophone mouthpiece Paul Desmond used while recording that album :D

I just returned, with my wife, from attending an outdoor, back yard deep-pit pork shoulder luncheon, celebrating the graduation of Kiersty, the wife-to-be-girl friend of a grandson, from Fresno State U. Tables set up with sun shades, lemonaid and water, salad, fruits. Very nice. Wish I could post a photo. Met several new people, all friends and room mates of Kierstiana, and her family and relatives, plus our daughter, son-in-law, two great-grandmunchkins, Lane and Andie, at the home of our grand daughter and husband, just recently built.

We stopped at two stores searching for a stand to sit the new Samsung TV we bought when our old LG was fried when our surge protector did not surge enough. My back was hurting so bad from all the walking, I had to stop and lean upon a light pole or anything nearby. Came home and tanked up on fresh, cold water. New TV now rests on the floor. Deciding whether or not to hang it on the wall.

Wife is napping in her recliner 5 feet away and dog is snoring on the floor in front of me. I think I shall light the pipe and contemplate in this quietness, what it's like to be young. 5:17 Pac. time. Sat-(her down)-day 17 May.
