People who call traffic circles roundabouts. Did they really think urban planning would be more acceptable if it sounded British?

Yes. Everything sounds more acceptable if it sounds British. "Traffic circle" just sounds very elementary.

The key is to drive an old, beat-up truck that looks as if it may be uninsured. No problem merging in traffic--ever.

Things ordinarily full of fat, but that are fat free. Salad dressing, ice cream, cheese. These three things doth the I hate: yea, four are an abomination, because also potato chips.
