Pipe #18 - Castello 55 - fiddlestix edition

Post by fiddlestix » Tue Feb 03, 2015 8:09 pm

Finished up the the commissioned "55" that I talked about in another thread. The customer gave me considerable latitude to create my own interpretation of the shape. I don't think I went too far off the reservation, but hopefully it has a little of my own flare to it. The picture doesn't do the blast justice. I've been struggling with the quality of my blasts until a couple of really trustworthy pipe makers gave me some tips recently. Made all the difference almost immediately. Anywho... Here she is.

55s look like a young Jay Leno chin. That being said, that is the best damn looking Leno chin I have ever seen. Fantastic job, Mark.

Thanks, John Michael. I debated as to whether the chin should be more or less pronounced and settled on more since it's the defining characteristic of 55's.

That's a great looking 55. I've always dug the shape, but I do not own one. I think I like your rendition better than Castello's!
