A JAG Olive Wood Bent Brandy

Post by joegoat » Sat Feb 25, 2017 7:51 pm

This one was on the bench longer than I had planned. All was going well until it came time to shape the stem. Basically I had no idea where I was going with it when I touched the tools to the ebonite. I know, bad idea. When the dust settled and the lathe stopped turning I had a monstrosity staring back at me from the chuck. I didn't know how to salvage that one and didn't feel like starting over, so I called it a day. A couple days later I went back out to the shop to see if had fixed itself. Nope! and I still had no idea how to revive it. I called it a day again. A few more days passed before I decided to deal with it. I would do all I could to salvage it and if I failed, I would start over. Well this is what I made. I must say, it didn't turn out half bad.

Dang!
That is one lovely pipe.

That glass was filled with thinned out coffee. :D The pictures where taken quite early in the day and I didn't feel like a brandy at that hour.
