A JAG Belge

Post by joegoat » Thu Nov 23, 2017 6:42 am

happy Thanksgiving! Here is the newest JAG Pipe. It's a commissioned piece. The customer is buying it for her fiance. She's not a pipe smoker and her fiance is a very occasional pipe smoker. She hopes a one of a kind, handcrafted pipe will get him into the hobby more. Not being a pipe smoker, her first idea for the pipe was a franken-pipe. It had elements from several of my previous pipes. If it would have been possible to combine them all, it would have been a mess! She decided on a Belge with an Ox Horn mount and rusticated rim.
Crosscut blocks have always been one of my favorite grain patterns.

Very fine looking pipe, JoeGoat! And nice pictures of it, as well.

The most excellent Scoop JG made for me is an awesome pipe. Totally enjoyable. And I very much like the unrestricted open draw which allows the pipe smoker to regulate the draw, rather than an airway restriction.

Stunningly beautiful, Joegoat.

It's an adjustment going to an unrestricted airway. You really just need to breath to smoke a properly drilled pipe.
