Nope, but it's a ways from finished. Still plenty of chances of me John-Michaeling it up.

Some update...I went ahead and did a quick buff too bring out any scratches. About to sand again, do some tweaking on the button and bit zone of the stem, then stain, buffing and all that jazz. It's getting there.

After posting this pipe I also had put it on the pipe makers forum and got some critique on the barrel part of my stem. I still have some tweaks and a lot of finish sanding, but it's getting there.

That's a great concept on that horn. I think I'd call it a mane--or maybe a long fin on a mythical sea serpent. I'm a sucker for the natural top of the plateaux, and I'd love to see more experimentation with that concept.

The pot also came out really well. The birdseye is especially nice.

ARGH! I can't leave things alone. The mohawk pipe just wasn't sitting right with me and some advice from a guy who repairs stems on multi thousand dollar pipes told me he thought it would look better with a very slight 1/8 bend all the way through. I think I over did the bend, but I like it overall. Now for all the finish sanding, staining, and finishing work...AGAIN!

In my novice opinion I think you have a great eye for pipe shape and dimensions of each of the parts.

:whistling: Yeah. A guy that is probably the world's best stem repair guy told me I should. So if it's any consolation you had the same idea as that guy. I stained it yesterday, but a little lighter this time. I'm going to try a Danish oil finish on this one, but that will come later this week.

Let us see the final product when you're done.
