Cam came to visit daddy at work today. She is doing well. Strong and healthy, almost always happy, and sleeps about 5 hours straight each night. She usually wakes up right before my 4:30 alarm each morning, so I even get a quick snuggle and kiss before I head out for the day. I know this is probably as easy as it gets for the next 20 years or so, and we are really enjoying the time.Image

Twenty years?!?!

You're hilarious.

Girls turn 20 when they're 12 or 13 years old.

But when they turn 20 they mature and become fully independent, well-functioning. Right?

There you go, making jokes again.

Raising daughters is the most difficult, confusing, frustrating, and wonderful job you'll ever have.

Praying for all the girls of CPS. And their dad's, uncles, and papa's.

Yeah. Yeeeah. I may or may not know that thunk very, very well. Kills us every time, doesn't it? But by the grace of God, she'll make it through to the next thunk, and you'll be there to help her learn to get up again.

I can't say it any better than Steve or Brigid. You'll find her eating non-food substances, too. And jumping in front of cars in parking lots and, in general, turning your hair prematurely gray and causing heart palpitations for the rest of your life. And that's all part of the joy.

So very true. It’s the worst when you see it happen in front of your very eyes. They bounce back and are much more flexible than you are so, deep breath, lots of hugs and back to your routine.
