The Influenza, Childhood Edition

Post by hugodrax » Wed Jan 17, 2018 11:33 am

So Ichi has the flu. Ordinarily, I joke about these things. And there is humor. So far, she has managed to paint: 1) her room, 2) the upstairs children's bathroom; 3) the shower; 4) the downstairs super fancy couch that can't be laundered, and 5) the shower again, just for good measure. All with that distinctive brio which she brings to all she does, but most especially the art of chundering. Not for her the "suffer in silence" or "puke in private" of her elders and betters. No, I'm sure pedestrians on the sidewalk wondered about the elderly man dying by inches inside our house this morning.

But she's got the chills, the cough, and the aches that this year's influenza is known for and I'm just worried. It's a serious strain and she's a mite of a kid without an inch of fat on her. I'd appreciate a prayer that none of us get any sicker than she is now. Also, that I learn to better curb my colorful vocabulary. I distinctly heard her say "son of a b****" this morning in between waves. It was used correctly and without malice, but still.
Etiam mihi opinio anserem perirent.

I so hate to see this. And my wife and I are so in prayer for your daughter, for very quick healing and recovery.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

It has swept through all of my staff and their children. Wicked, it is.

Joining you in prayer.
This is a very serious flu.

Don't be hesitant to go to the ER if it gets worse.
