Plant shutting

Announced today that the soap plant where I work is closing this year. I'm ok, I will stay with another part of the plant, but 80% of the folks here are losing their jobs. Hourly are U***n good pay & benefits, most of these folks likely won't find that again.

Please pray for these folks, their families, and the community

The town we live in went through this around 15 to 20 years ago. We had a furniture factory on every corner (an exaggeration, but not much). And they all shut down over a relatively short period of time. The town has never fully recovered but things continue to get better slowly. To compound the emotional aspect of this, the old No. 1 plant burned to the ground a few weeks ago. So I feel your pain and will pray for your people. And for you.

Sad to hear it.

The local Sam's Club just closed as well, victim of the transition to online shopping for bulk staples. We don't know yet if it will be transitioned into a distribution center for Walmart.com. Those employees have been on my heart as well.
