Long time prayer...
For years, I've prayed nearly every day for my cousin, Jason, and his wife, Sabrina. Both are nice people, but very closed off to anything to do with God. Tonight, Sabrina posted something on facebook about a need for an elderly neighbor. It prompted me to google an area church and right them. This is what I wrote:
"Hi, my name is John George. I am missionary/Bible translator with New Tribes Mission to the country of Papua New Guinea. The reason I am writing (and this comes very randomly I know) is to see if your church might be able to help with a need I have become aware of in your community.
The short story is that there is an elderly man that lives in Inglewood that has ALS. He has weekly doctor appointments but no good way of getting to them. I was hoping that your church might be able to help in some capacity with this.
I am asking on behalf of this man, but also for another reason...
The way I became aware of this man and his need for help is via a facebook post by my cousin's wife. Neither my cousin, nor his wife, are Christians. In fact, though they are nice people, they are fairly closed off to God altogether. My cousin's name is Jason and his wife is Sabrina. I have literally prayed for them nearly every day for years. Of course I pray for them to realize their sin and need for Jesus, but also I have specifically prayed that the Lord would put a godly man in Jason's life and a godly woman in Sabrina's to show Christ love to them...to be Jesus in front of them.
So, while I don't know this elderly man that needs help, I do, genuinely, hope you all might could fill this need. However, I also pray that if you are able to help, that God would you use your congregation to be those people I have been praying for for so many years now.
If you (whoever may wind up reading this) feel that you can help with this need please let me know. I will then contact my cousin and find out the man's name and address to put you in contact with him.
I have literally just googled Baptist churches in the Inglewood community and yours was the first to show up. So...lucky you, right!?"
Please join me in a very long on-going prayer for my cousin and his wife to recognize their sin and to cling to Jesus.

Praying.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Prayer said.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6,7 ESV

Re: Long time prayer...
The church secretary wrote me back (I had written then via FB messenger as I didn't see an e-mail address on the website). She said it sounds like a need that really needs to be met and that she is going to pass my message on to the pastor and missions head.
Keep praying for everyone. Thanks, guys.
