The hospital says that Paul doesn't want to see or talk to us. Also he doesn't want them to give us status updates.
The first he could be released is 8:00 am EDT tomorrow morning. We're praying that he will exhibit behavior that will cause him to stay longer so they'll be able to diagnose him and get him the correct medication.

Thank you for all your prayers!
Your Humble and Obedient Servant,

Dennis

Your prayers are much appreciated! Hospital was short on beds so they released him a day early. They did diagnose schizophrenia and have him on meds. They help with the voices, but he still thinks the government is out to get him. He’s back in my brother’s house by himself. I will let my brother figure out how to get his back rent.

Update: We hadn't heard from Paul in several weeks, then two days ago he showed up, ate, and left. Obviously very disturbed. We have made the decision that he cannot come in the house anymore. Just too unpredictable. He came back later and we didn't answer the door. Saw him walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the house gesticulating and talking wildly to the air.

He came over last evening and was informed he couldn't come in the house, which didn't go over very well. Lucy and I sat on the porch with him and she gave him a bowl of macaroni. I asked if he was taking his meds and he said he didn't need them (big surprise!) and that he's been time travelling.
Lauren made him up a care box of food and he headed back over to my brother's house where he's been living (my brother hasn't lived there for years).

this will require continuing prayers.

St. Dymphna, this one needs your help.

Good Saint Dymphna, great wonder-worker in every affliction of mind and body, we humbly implore your powerful intercession with Jesus through Mary, the Health of the Sick, in our present need -- sanity for Dennis's son. Saint Dymphna, martyr of purity, patroness of those who suffer with nervous and mental afflictions, beloved child of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for us and obtain our request.
