Speaking

Post by ReverendThom » Fri Jul 06, 2018 8:34 pm

I'm speaking at a camp this coming week and could use 2 pieces of prayer if you think of it.
1: I have six, 20-25 minutes sessions ... not a word written yet! First one is Monday night. I want Jesus to shine to these kids - pray that His words flow. I always remember John 16:8 - that it's the Holy Spirit's job to convince and convict ... but obviously, I want to be well prepared and speak well.
2: We're all going. Me, my wife, the baby and 2 dogs! Pray that this is a good week for us as a family.

Thanks y'all

oh 3! pray that I can find somewhere to sneak away for a pipe sometimes :P

Sounds interesting and intriguing, Rev. Six 20 minute sessions. That's about 19 minutes longer than a teenagers attention span. But you were a teen not too terribly long ago and having a heart for souls I am sure the Good Lord will set you upon the right track for material that they can relate to.

In the long and short of it, these kids can see whats genuine. Maybe just be totally transparent and tell the gospel truth woven into your story? Nothing is as powerful as a testimony.

Family camps are fun! We used to go every year. One year a wood rat had given birth in some mom's purse---the whole camp knew about it when she discovered the mess---probably even campers on the other side of the lake!
Praying.

That bit of natural history out their amongst Mother Nature would be a good ice breaker.

Praying the Spirit gives you words and praying you and the family find some time for actual R&R between your official duties.

Thanks all. Buckling down right now. Armed with pipes from (L to R): my old church, Durango, and FredS. And tobacco from Rusty and DL.

First session is in an hour. Battling a soar throat all day and a slight fever.

They've set us up in a cozy cabin right in the edge of Lake Winnipeg.

Also have run into 5 kids from my old youth group. 2 leading, and 3 as campers :)

Prayers up, Rev. Sure hope you can beat that sore throat and fever. Maybe someone has some Vit C tablets you can take a bunch of. And don't neglect to drink a lot of water.
