He is beautiful. Early assessments he looks normal. The medical team will be assessing over the next few days. We were able to hold him. All responses to stimuli seem normal.
I am sending this from my phone and I cannot figure out how to attach a photo.
Will update when I get more info.
God bless Russell & Laura & Alex.
God bless the amazingly skilled medical team.
God bless all of you for your prayers.

Grandmother and I are back from the hospital. Russell is an absolutely beautiful baby. All the responses to stimuli seem normal.
I was able to hold him and it was every bit as emotional as when my son was born.
However the next 24 hrs will be important. The medical team will be evaluating him very closely.
So please keep the prayers flowing.

Re: Daughter-in-law & grandson
Baby Russell had a brain MRI on Tuesday.
The neurosurgeon did not see any thing in the MRI that requires action now. Same with the neurologist. Surgeon wants to see Russell in 1 month, neurologist in 2 months.
The occupational therapist did not find anything wrong.
I just heard that son & daughter-in-law will be bringing Russell home today.
It is possible that he could develop problems in the future but for now there are no known problems. It might take years. For now we are ecstatic.
I cannot thank you all enough for your prayers.
