Ah. You're a good man, brother. If it matters, I'm proud to "know" you, impressed with how you handle yourself, and praying for the Holy Ghost to give you some inspiration.

That retreat is gonna rock. You'll see.
I am also of the opinion that the Jesuits should be suppressed.

Romans 5 was (and has been) an incredible passage for me during divorce:
5 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, 4 endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

I had to sit and park on "we rejoice in afflictions"-- we do? Oh... man.

Then "this hope will not disappoint us"-- how many people disappoint? 100%. Putting a hope in people will lead to frustration-- but there is a hope (that which comes in living by faith) that does not disappoint. Wooooooo... wow.

Prayed for you and the young man. Maybe your paths will cross again under better circumstances.

Tell your story. Talk about how it is difficult to love people some days, but we can through God's grace. Read the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Close in prayer.
