Relapse

Post by Fainn » Tue Feb 05, 2019 8:27 pm

Was doing so well managing my depression. Last Christmas was the best in over a decade. Last week, I read a story of an aborted baby who cried for an hour before dying and I've been torn up ever since. Today, it seemed like all my depression came back, minus the suicidal thoughts.

A difference this time is that your sadness is directed to something that warrants it. It is indeed a heartbreaking thing. Praying that this will prove to be a godly time of mourning and nothing negative.

Years ago I read a similar story, witnessed by nurse Jill Stanek. It had a huge effect on my life too.

The road will never be smooth Fainn. The good news is that you recognize what's happening to you. You'll do well to remember last Christmas and your son and your job and your paycheck and the tattoo you want to get. Those good times and things will give you reasons to work at getting well again.
