Also you should hear a nearly two-year-old say "Hugo"

Excuse me, but I need to tell somebody. My father and mother have been attending the living wake here with me, and bought me a ton of really nice magazines I'd never heard of. Sporting Classics, Covey something or other, and Shooting Sportsman.

You know the kind, I'm sure...good writing but a bit maudlin. The father that silently helped his son limit out at trout, the savor every cigar you have with your father article, and just dog articles fit to break your heart.

I shouldn't have read the one about the dumb kid with the black lab. I should have known better. That dogs been dead 35 years and I'm balling.
Prayers your way continue.

Yeah, I read all of those except Covey. The issues of Covey that I've seen on B&Ns racks haven't seemed very substantive. Shooting Sportsman isn't what it used to be imo. Sporting Classics either for that matter, but they all have some good reads here and there. I always stay away from sad dog stories and movies, especially Ol Yeller. I swore them all off as a kid after seeing Ol Yeller.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

A guy named Randy Wayne White wrote a short story about his Chesapeake, Gator who retrieved cinder blocks and old tires from the bottom of the canal he lived on. Do not EVER read that story, not in public anyway because you absolutely will cry at the end if you have any heart at all.

It's never too late. Every prayer counts. God isn't restricted to our chronological time or space.
