Post about everything from carrying a handkerchief to manly skills (sharpening a pocket knife, etc.) to product reviews of items that may have slipped under our radar (e.g. - Grandpa's Pine Tar soap). No threads on anything "new" unless it harkens to old-fashioned sensibilities and ideals.

These are my hats which used in my vacations and i still use them while going in the Cafe.
All of them are new [my previous collection was given in church for charities] and in my schedule is to buy another Panama in Ivory colour.

Those are cool hats! Are they the kind that collapse? I used to to want one of those but never bought one.

My prodigal hat returned. It was a wool fiddler cap. I had one before and lost it. Ordered a new one and have it had for 3 years. Lost it a few weeks ago. Wasn't going to replace it and was thinking maybe God didn't care for that particular style since I have other hats from high school. Yesterday, I happened to go out to my wife's car. There it was above the back seat! Here is a pic of the hat.

Opinions are like butts. Everyone has one, but mine is the best.

These are hats from wicker, the cheap ones are from paper-wicker and the expensive are from wicker from Ecuador etc. They don't collapse and they evaporate the sweat from the forehead easily but the secret is: Not get wet and be careful with the storage at Winter [must not be pressed by weight or don't push them to fit in a narrow space] so they will not lose their original shape. They are light weight, beautiful, useful and give you a touch of ''old time era'' Gentleman.

As always, I recommend
Sunbody Hats
I'd get the Guatemalan fine palm with a 2.5" or 3" brim for summer. I have a 2.5" one. It's my summer go to. Bulletproof.

Add some large vent eyelets and a leather band and yer good to go. They are waterproof and conform to your head very well. In fact, you should water your palm hat occasionally if you live in a dry environment. Just wet it down, shape it how you want it, and let it dry on your head.
How to Shape Your Sunbody Hat
Using Cleons recommendations..
Here's my SunBody Sam Houston that I picked up here on The Moonbase for doing yardwork.

I have too many hats. Here are a few that I am going to unload. I hope to post them up for sale soon. Most of them are high crown with at least a 2.5" brim. Love the vintage felt. It dents and conforms like clay.

left to right: Gannon Hats custom 100% beaver dress in Silvermist close to 7 3/8 long oval,
Northwest Hats custom 100% beaver lightweight dress in creamy silverbelly close to 7 3/8 long oval,
Vintage 1940s Stack Hat Company Beaver 20 in Platinum with cushion vented sweatband and a felted brim edge 7 3/8.

left to right: Vintage 1950s? Mallory Preferred Quality Cravenette in light brown 7 3/8,
Cleon Converted Resistol Western in nubuck brown (cut down and blocked by me) in 7 1/4 long oval,
Vintage Borsalino lightweight pocket\travel hat in grey 7 3/8.
Stetson shantung (manufactured straw, not natural straw) panama large.

Hat check! One of my favorite photos showing how men used to crease their hats and make them their own.

I wore a sleeping hat until I was 20 and it got ruined in the wash. Been looking all week and think I have found a good one online that I will order tomorrow.

I didn't even know sleeping hats were a thing anymore. Your post caused me to google them and I stumbled on this. Sounds legit to me and they're on sale! (batteries not included)

Very cool. Each hat has real character.

I like it. If it comes with the wig you might not need it though.
Looks better than most beanie hats I see.
