I have a black Resistol i don't wear nearly enough, but it's uncouth to wear a cowboy hat without wearing cowboy boots, and my last pair of cowboy boots rode off into the sunset several years ago

Nope. but mare's urine really does a number on leather!
I did find an old pair of ropers i the closet though, so....

Nope. but mare's urine really does a number on leather!
I did find an old pair of ropers i the closet though, so....
I figured if mare's urine was a thing you'd have to deal with enough for it to be a problem that you'd at least have some sort of leather care regimen.

After 30 years of mare's urine, leather dressings stop making much of a difference, especially on the stitching.

30 years is a lot of urine. And also, after 30 years you probably would have needed new ones anyway.

Countries that still tan with urine(often in clay vats) do NOT have leather with "that nice leathery smell."
They have garbage
