Polaroid Remembered

Post about everything from carrying a handkerchief to manly skills (sharpening a pocket knife, etc.) to product reviews of items that may have slipped under our radar (e.g. - Grandpa's Pine Tar soap). No threads on anything "new" unless it harkens to old-fashioned sensibilities and ideals.

I remember my dad and older brother going to NYC to purchase what seemed to me to be a huge Polaroid Black & White camera back in 1960 or so.

I remember when manipulated SX70 images were all the rage with art students...

My son inherited his grandad’s SX70, but he doesn’t use it anymore.

I recall that with that big 'ol B&W Poloroid you'd pull the image out by hand, which spread the developer over the paper. Then you'd count so many seconds based on the air temperature, and then peel the light tight portion off

My mom bought a polaroid camera instead of paying the electric bill when I was a kid and they shut our power off until my grandmother paid the bill...no lights, but hey she had a camera to take pics of her three children...
