I do love John Cotton's Smyna. Never had the privilege of smoking the original so I've no basis for comparison, but I do enjoy this blend.

Re: What was your last tobacco purchase?
While vacationing in Ft. Myers, FL, picked up a tin of Mac Baren Mixture (Scottish Blend) and an ounce of PS Proper English from a little shop. The MB was something I'd tried years ago without any pleasure. Tried a much slower pace and found this to be a very pleasant smoke.

Re: What was your last tobacco purchase?
Just ordered four more tins of Gatsby.
Seems to be going out of stock most places, and at $5.99 a tin at P&C, I thought I might cellar some more while it's still possible.
Good smoke for the price.
Heck. Good smoke, regardless.

I stocked up when they had it 1/2 off. One of my favorite smokes.durangopipe wrote:Just ordered four more tins of Gatsby.

Re: What was your last tobacco purchase?
Visited Ed at The King Street Emporium in Martinsburg, WV while on vacation earlier this month and picked up 2 oz of his Cherry Run and Almost Heaven blends. Also grabbed a pound of Copper Canyon Blend coffee, a Red Witch cigar and two Gurkha Bourbon Barrel cigars. If you're ever in the area stop in and visit. The shops a throwback to a simpler time. You can sit and chat with the regulars while enjoy a good smoke and a cup of coffee.

Today, I ordered from Smoking Pipes, a 2 ounce tin of G.L. Pease Haddo's Delight. Had to try this blend as so many have raved about it.

Re: What was your last tobacco purchase?
Not a purchase ... A ministerial colleague showed up with a gift for me from his recent vacation to Boston. It is a few hundred grams of a bulk blend called Boston Mixture. Nice smelling back Cavendish mix. Can't wait to try it!

I recently purchased another such can or tub. Skip told me not to be ashamed. I am not ashamed.

With P&C's free shipping on $25 and over,..... six 1.76 ounce tins of McClelland's Virginia/Oriental/Perique Tudor Castle. I sure do love this stuff. I have about a dozen tins from 2015 but I'd like to get some more age on them.

I quasi bought the whiskey twist through trade of a couple of English Blends (I fear that I got the better end of the deal) and I'm very grateful to S&S for helping me expand my horizons in exchange for some aged tins.sweetandsour wrote:G&H Sweet Whiskey Twist, and McC 5115, 4 oz each.

Glad to do it, but I don't know who actually got the better end. I havent tried my sample of the twist yet. It smells interesting though. I'm thinking use a pipe with smallish bowl?JohnnyMcPiperson wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 6:03 amI quasi bought the whiskey twist through trade of a couple of English Blends (I fear that I got the better end of the deal) and I'm very grateful to S&S for helping me expand my horizons in exchange for some aged tins.sweetandsour wrote:G&H Sweet Whiskey Twist, and McC 5115, 4 oz each.

Re: What was your last tobacco purchase?
Just arrived. A big 'ol 1 pound bag of McClelland 2015 Virginia Perique Flake and a 500 gram box of Gawith Hoggarth, & Co, Scotch Flake. I've got enough empty 1/2 pint Kerr jars. Somehow I'll squeeze all this into my hall closet cellar.
For those who may have never seen one of these GH flakes. They are enormous and thick. The Scotch Flake is an all Virginia flake whereas their Brown Flake (which is also very good) has some Burley. And that gorgeous broken 2015 flake, A lot of good smokes in that there bag.....
