I have a friend whose favorite was red and black, he didn’t know of their closing until after the run on all there tobaccos. Then again I believe they have been out of red and black for some time.

I take it you have had the Aurora before. It is celestial. Enjoy, Johnny!

Indeed, it is quite good, as are many of the pictured tins! I have many things to smoke, I will probably save most of these until McClelland is a bit more of a distant memory. May smoke some and sell others, haven’t decided, when I acquired these tins, I had no idea that McClelland was going anywhere.

You know like two or three someones bought them out and plan on selling them for $40-50 a tin in the next year. Can guarantee that.

The Frog's body is not even cold and there are already those on ebay peddling his wares at a hefty profit.

McClelland Crop Problems

Indeed, one can start to look at a tobacco cellar like a stock portfolio when stuff like this goes down. It’s hard to open a tin that I know could fetch $40-80 in the near future...
With that said, Tudor Castle is a favorite, will most likely smoke that one eventually.

I have seen 50g tins of Frog with current bids of $20 on ebay. And it'll go a lot higher, McCl tobaccos were that good. How it pains me to use a past tense word like were.

And here's a dude asking $100 a tin....

So here's what $120 after taxes will get you in Canada at my local B&M. 50 grams of bulk 2000, and a tin of Sophisticate.
The tin already has 7 years on it though :) (right?)

Shop owner said an old guy came in the other week and dropped $800 on 13 tins of different McClelland blends.

This is the single blend I regret not trying before it was gone. I have pounds of the rest of the stuff I want (FMOTT, FM Cellar, Old Church, etc.), which I would trade some of for one of these in a heartbeat.

I was given a tin of this on the day my wife and I were married by one of my groomsmen (well, the 2012 anniversary one :P). I'll be sure to enjoy it later on down the road, perhaps for our 10th or 20th anniversary.
