Ah yes, the CPS “argument”. Well-illustrated, boys.

I prefer green, but black olives do have that thing about them.

Canned Green Olives, the ones with a Trader Joe's label. Far, far better than black olives.

Whatever holiday dinner we had with my paternal grandparents, there was always a bowl of black olives from the can on the table within anyone's reach. Other olives are good, but black olives mean holiday dinner.

Contrary to an apparently common assumption — one prolly owing to the ubiquity of black olives — not all of 'em are created equal.

A few months ago, in the inexplicable throes of a particularly niggardly funk, I blithely spurned my trusted, go-to brand and promiscuously trifled with a 55 oz can of Gordon Choice (GFS) black olives. Though they looked expectantly good — glisteningly radiant as ebony lacquer — they were damn near inedible (though I did force myself to eat 'em). Astringent with a disturbingly persistent finish and none of the subtle fruitiness exhibited by the best of the breed. Almost put me off the stuff for an extended period. :barf2:

Black olives in stuffing is very nice.
I do like all kinds of olives though.
Green olives are rather festive as part of the garden element of Bloody Marys.
Mrs Hov detests olives though. So sad :(

While I'm not a fan of Black Olives, I am under the impression you can buy them and eat them at any time of the year, not just Thanksgiving. In case you didn't know that. Enjoy!
