Still recovering from a nasty bout of poison ivy, been home for a few days now, managed to hop out for a pipe today though, C&D Crowley’s best in an Ernie Markle Nose-warmer.

We don't have any poison ivy here in the Sonoran Desert but they do have poison oak in the more temporate areas of the West, and maybe in the Rocky Mountain states?. Different shaped leaves, but still 3 leaves to a twig

Once heard of someone who actually made a tea of poison ivy leaves and drank it, thinking it would relieve their symptoms. They died.

Just goes to show, can’t cure stupid...

I have been resident to it in the past, usually, I really don’t get it, but I was doing some landscaping, clearing brush (my summer extra mo, and I had a cut on my arm, it got into the cut and spread from there, no washing that off... so I got it this time.

Anyway, tonight, some MacBaren Dark Twist in a Hardcastle Dublin goooood stuff!

Sam Gawith Cabbie's Mixture in an Irish Harp series Peterson 106.
I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.
