Dunhill My Mixture 965
Strong, not bitey, but high in nicotine. Gave me a real jolt on the palate, something I could get used to. Don't drive after you consume this stuff!
I like the smoke, thick and dark, burns very well once you get it started. Almost white ash, light gray.
This is my favorite English, although I haven't had that many.

If you think this is high in nicotine, don't try Nightcap.. or University Flake, for that matter. .. thought I usually took UF two flakes at a time.anixi wrote:Strong, not bitey, but high in nicotine. Outside of that, 965 has got to be my favorite blend. It's the one tobacco I constantly have on hand. Great stuff.
+1

Trying my first bowl of 965 (bulk) right now. Just finished a tin of Frog Morton on the Bayou and there is a spiciness common to the two of them. Both are the only two I've tried with both Balkan and Latakia so I wonder which is the source. I definately like it.
So far, I think I like FMOTB better, but give me a couple of bowls...
This isn't bad, it's local, and I can get it in bulk relatively inexpensively so I think it may become a regular for me.

965
965 was my first exposure to an English. I kept waiting for apocalyptic visions or at least heart palpitations. . .nothing. Loved the flavor and still resort to it pretty frequently. I don't find Nightcap too strong either. The only tobacco I've ever found that is noticeably powerful is Stonehaven. That stuff should only be smoked in a small bowl, after a full meal, and very slowly.

i just opened a tin of Nightcap this weekend, and i think my tolerance has upped a bit.. either that, or it could be the difference between smoking one bowl outside in the Spring versus smoking a half dozen in a small room in the Winter..

Alright, yesterday I picked up some bulk of 965. I have been very intrigued by this backy ever since I read the reviews here. Last Friday, when I was at the local tobacconist, I opened the jar of 965 they had with the other bulks. The scent was strong yet tantalizing to me. I used to smoke maduro cigars and loved the spicey aspect of other heavy cigars. I thought this would be a good backy for me to at least try. Well, last night I finally had my first bowl. I smoked it slow, and really took the time to enjoy it (even though I was in the garage). It was a good smoke that had the kick that I was... well lacking with other backys. It was spicy and stout, but in a good way (if that makes since). I think this is going to be one of my go to backys. I may have to buy a tin or two to cellar!
Gitty Up!
