Post about everything from carrying a handkerchief to manly skills (sharpening a pocket knife, etc.) to product reviews of items that may have slipped under our radar (e.g. - Grandpa's Pine Tar soap). No threads on anything "new" unless it harkens to old-fashioned sensibilities and ideals.

I have a black Resistol i don't wear nearly enough, but it's uncouth to wear a cowboy hat without wearing cowboy boots, and my last pair of cowboy boots rode off into the sunset several years ago

I figured if mare's urine was a thing you'd have to deal with enough for it to be a problem that you'd at least have some sort of leather care regimen.

Of course.
After 30 years of mare's urine, leather dressings stop making much of a difference, especially on the stitching.

30 years is a lot of urine. And also, after 30 years you probably would have needed new ones anyway.

Yeah, urine.
Countries that still tan with urine(often in clay vats) do NOT have leather with "that nice leathery smell."
They have garbage

But without a horse I didn't need riding boots.
