It was pretty brisk for a few days. Around -40 with the wind chill. Now tomorrow and Friday will be around +2°c :pie:

If its any consolation, Rev, way down here in Tucson, Arizona they had a dusting of snow yesterday. The old wheel barrel I keep at roofs edge, full of rainwater from the other night had a thin layer of ice. The ice remained floating all day yesterday, out of the sun.

For the first time in 5 years Mrs. DP and I made a road trip to Santa Fe to visit friends. She drove most of the way. I was on a mattress in the back with our pup.

Everyone in Santa Fe is talking about how cold it is. 6F here this morning. We think it was around -20F at our unoccupied house and there’s supposed to be one more night at that temp before it warms up a little. Here’s hoping we don’t come home to a broken pipe.

Nice. I hope the visit is worth the struggle.

Temp here was 30 this morning (F) and a high of 55. I heard we had a couple days below freezing for the low and they brought back memories of 2013 when that happened. I think it was longer at that time as I ran water circulation for about a week.

More clouds again today. And more rain forecast for this evening through tomorrow morning. Chilly wet introduction to our "winter."

Raining.
The plants are loving it.
I'm loving it.
There is something about the sound of rain on the roof that makes it easy to fall asleep.

I guess the Jet Stream has dropped far south. This has so far been the wettest and chilliest winter we've experienced here. Presently clear at 9:30 am, but only 48 f.

Lots of unusually cloudy weather forecast over the next several days but no rain to speak of. Highs in the mid-60s, overnight lows in the mid-40s.

A dent in our drought?

Image

Most of Montezuma county (just west of us) has been downgraded (upgraded?) from exceptional drought to extreme drought for the first time in several years.

I’ll take good news where I find it, hoping the trend continues.

I would ask if that were a euphemism if I hadn't seen your other post.
