Dang! This is good Zinfandel

Post by Hovannes » Thu Apr 12, 2018 6:37 pm

2016 Opolo Mountain Zinfandel from Paso Robles.
Incredible.
I love this stuff and I'm not a Zin fan.
It was a gift so I don't know the price, but whatever it is it was probably worth it.

Thanks. I always like good wine recommendations.

Thanks, Hov. I'll look for it tomorrow at Costco. Would go well with the 10 pound box of Alaskan King Crab legs I plan to buy. 10 pounds is a lot, but that's how they sell it.

I thought only women drank Zinfandel.

Give this one a try! I'm not normally a Zinfandel fan, but this one tastes more like hearty Cabernet, to me anyway.

You're thinking of pink Zinfandel.

Hipsters are drinking only specialty cocktails and Schlitz these days.

Schlitz? You're joking.

Speaking of Schlitz and wine, I drank 3 or 4 Schlitz and most of a bottle of Boones Farm Apple the night before I took the SAT. Was not an enjoyable saturday morning.

I enjoy Schlitz, but don't buy it because of judgmental lawyers thinking I'm trying to be a hipster.

Think of what Schlitz was meant to be when the ad guys first got a hold of it. That's what the hipsters think it is.

I love Schlitz! The microbrew nonsense doesn't excite me.

I get it. For me its as much about nostalgia and familiarity as taste. Schlitz was a favorite of my people when I was a kid.

Schlitz is the only beer I drank in college. Mainly because it was the only beer stocked in the town. I did not mind it, though.

My Sargent said that you never really buy beer, you only rent it for awhile.
