I stopped at a little joint this morning for some bacon and eggs to go. I guess the girl felt sorry for me for declining the biscuits and hash browns and piled on a bunch of extra bacon.

As I watched football yesterday, I mad up a batch of "Egg and bacon" loaves for lunch this week. Walked out of the house this morning and forgot them. I am back on track, but I have to re-learn the steps of putting the food in my work bag :headwall:

I just bought a mold for making "egg bites" in my instant pot. Are we talking about the same thing?

I need to work on that bring your lunch habit, too.

No, the egg loaf I make, is with a mini-loaf pan (8 loaves) that my wife bought for Christmas baking 2 years ago. It makes 8 mini loaves...wish it was 10, because I eat 2 a day...It is perfect for 10 eggs, green chili salsa and a little heavy cream mixed up, and then poured into the pan and topped with bacon or sausage and grated cheese. They bake in a 350 degree oven in about 15 min. Good and you can spice them up or down and or top them with sour cream or what ever so they don't get too boring. A loaf for breakfast, one for lunch with an avocado half and then dinner is...

I really fell off the wagon last summer and I need to do this.

The egg bites mold sounds interesting too...I am also going to try the tea eggs to change things up some

So, fellers.... How does a guy get started with this keto-generic dietary thingy?

Is there a book? Do you talk to a doctor? "Google it" and become a great expert?

I got 33 lbs that I don't want no more.

I recall somebody posted a PDF in this thread early on? Perhaps but but that's my memory

It took 8 years, ...
I agree with Del.

I would also like a recommendation for a basic, page turning, informative guide to the ketogenic diet.

There are a bajillion books. If you want science, read Taubes' GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES. If you just want practical how-to, search Amazon for keto + kindle. I have five or six cookbooks on the subject. Just downloaded one on desserts.

Like JudgeRusty, I'm looking for that first good resource to be an on-ramp to the keto-interstate.

Once I understand how and what I'm doing, I know how to work a cookbook!

I suppose I should learn how to kindle more than a fireplace.....

I didn't add the coconut oil and I didn't blend it...just stirred it. It really isn't bad...but don't let it get cold...not good cold. Since I am not using sugar, something in the coffee is nice and I need the "Good" fats...

Is anybody here measuring ketosis with a blood or breath analyzer?
