Revelations 17
Actually quite interesting, the parallels between Christ and the Prostitute, both had a cup of wine, one that evil tried to destroy, the other will be destroyed.

Romans, in The Message rendering/ version. The gospel is spelled out with such crystal clarity.

ESV is just as clear to me, I like the Message for some things, but not for personal study.Goose55 wrote:Romans, in The Message rendering/ version. The gospel is spelled out with such crystal clarity.

Sad to say, but I'm probably in the crowd yelling crucify him.

Re: Where you at in the Good Book?
I've always got several bookmarks in my Bible. I just finished reading Hebrews. I'm also working through Job. And I'm about to start Hosea. I've also been reading through 2 Samuel with the kids, although after our summer vacation we kind of got off track. One of my kids just reminded me that I hadn't read the Bible to them in a while, and when was I going to start doing that again? The political intrigue between Saul and David, and then David and Absalom is mostly lost on the little ones, but the older ones get it.
And the funny thing is, I still manage to sit down to read the Bible only about 4 days a week. So it's slow going.

The Message version is at my bedside and I have been blessed serendipitously opening to whatever portion I need to hear. Praise God for He is good.
