The OFG's To Do List

Post about everything from carrying a handkerchief to manly skills (sharpening a pocket knife, etc.) to product reviews of items that may have slipped under our radar (e.g. - Grandpa's Pine Tar soap). No threads on anything "new" unless it harkens to old-fashioned sensibilities and ideals.

The OFG's To Do List

Post by joegoat » Thu Jun 14, 2018 12:39 pm

Welp, I have two gallons of beef tallow rendering on my back deck...
I use the stuff in several black powder lube recipes. I may only use a few ounces a year, but for the same price to buy an ounce of it I can make 15 pounds of it. I went to the butcher shop yesterday and got two big chunks of beef suet. Not just any chunks, the prime chunks, right around the kidneys for a whopping $5. I EVEN GOT THE KIDNEYS!!!! Needless to say, steak and kidney pipe is on the menu. YUM!
So what are the OFG items that come up on your to do lists?

I just wait until Mrs. UB hands the list to me.

Somehow, I wound up with a large quantity of very lush grass in my vegetable garden, so my weekly to-do involves pulling it up. Feels bad, man.

I just about had to bail mine. I has rained for a week and a half straight and in between showers, the sun came out full force and it was super humid. The grass was about to go to seed! I was on the last two passes when it let loose again. Thanks be to God for the rain, but I wouldn't complain if He would spread the blessing out over a few weeks.

Replace the window shade on the kitchen window.
Mark the side yard with ground paint, for figuring out some new landscaping.
Pick up the dog poop.

No, but I think Strzok might. His original text was "No. No He's not. We'll vote against him and allow the people through the electoral college decide the next president of the United States." But darn auto correct changed that to "We'll stop him."
