Lizzy

Post by sweetandsour » Sun Jan 13, 2019 10:15 am

Appreciate a prayer for my pup Lizzy this mrng. I'm in the waiting room of the local vet ER. Her eye is bleeding, I'm thinking she must have hit a thorn yesterday woodcock hunting. If u don't like praying for a bird dog then say one for me. Thanks

Thanks John and Jim, and Steve. You guys appreciate good bird dogs, and the good things in this life. I think Lizzy will be ok; no scratches on her cornea, just severe inflammation. She got a shot for pain, and I brought home two different kinds of eye drops. The ER place was packed, and Lizzy was in pretty good shape compared to most of the other dogs being brought in there this morning. They were being put down right and left, and I couldn't wait to get Lizzy and come home. I missed church and pizza, but I got my dog took care of and back home.

Thanks again everyone. I'm putting drops in her eyes as directed and she's much better today. I guess it was obvious how upset I was. I'm shellshocked I guess.

Btw I posted to a couple other sites and texted the guy that I got Liz from (he has Lizzy's mom), and coincidentally there were other bird dogs that were having eye issues yesterday after hunting hard on Saturday, though apparently not as severe as Liz. Tough conditions this January in east Texas.

Much better, thanks. I stopped with the drops last night, and plan to hunt her later today, but not in the thicket where we were the last hunt.
Thanks again.

Sorry Lizzy had to go through that and I hope her care was not too expensive.
