An Unexpected Gift

Post by UncleGabe » Sat Jun 08, 2019 2:13 pm

Hello Everyone,

One of the benefits of being retired is that you get to stay up as late as you want to with no fear of sleeping in late. So, when 4:30 am rolled around, I decided to drag my carcass off to bed. Normally, I'd just toddle off to bed, but this morning I decided to poke my head out the front door and see if anything was stirring. While out there, I noticed a big white mailer package sticking out of my mailbox! Earlier this week, a kind-hearted soul (D.L. Ruth from another forum) offered to send me a care package, so I knew there was something wonderful coming in the mail, I just didn't know exactly what. So, I was as giddy as a school-girl!!!

When I opened the package, I was absolutely delighted to discover its contents:

Needless to say, I am sitting back in my easy chair, watching the extended versions of The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings, and enjoying such wonderful pipe-weed!!!

I know what I'll be ordering in July.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.

Pfft. Stereotypes. I'm a pipe smoker but I'm so cheap, so tight, I squeak when I walk.

Wait ... that might be something else. Ok, never mind then.
